I picked this set up from a collector that bought it from an old radio/TV repair shop that had been closed for years. He said this little baby was sitting on a shelf and looked like it had been there for a long time because of the accumulated dust on and in it. He also cleaned and recapped it and it now plays great with the original antenna wire. It even has the original antenna tag! There is a new polarized power cord installed, also.
This is one of the nicest original finish examples of one of these little metal sets I've seen. The bright red paint is nearly all intact with only minor loss along a couple of the edges. There is wear on the tips of the bottom leg "bumps" as can be expected. There is no sign of corrosion on the metal cabinet anywhere! Even the paper label on the bottom is intact and legible. The knobs are original and in good condition.
The three chassis screws are bright as well as the chassis metal. Three of the four tubes are Arvin brand.
You won't be disappointed with this little radio. Great set for the collector that likes clean original finish sets.
